SplitPrint App Reviews

Excellent poster printer

Probably the best poster printing app Ive used over the years. I especially like the options to print overlapping pages (so that the trimming does not have to be perfect) and print cut lines (making life much easier when trimming pages with lots of white space). I had turned out a couple oversized posters within minutes of downloading the app, and without reading the Help directions. The inclusion of the in-app "picture shop" (with some pretty but rather limited nature shots) is a little odd, but if you ignore it you wont lose anything and some people will appreciate it.

Perfect for Stained Glass Pattern Printing!

This is perfect to take an image, blow it up to the end resulting size and print out on tiled pages. My hobby of stained glass often requires re-sizing patterns quickly. This app does that! Love it! Previously for my PC, I spend over $50 for a program to do this same task. This is much better and a lot cheaper! Thanks!

Good software with EXCELLENT support and author response!

The author of this software is easily the most responsive of any software product I own. If you have a problem or suggestion/concern the author is right there responding to you in a manner I can only describe as SUPER fast! I highly recommend this authors products to anyone!

Awesome!

I use this app to split FAA Digital Aeronautical charts in .tif format for easy saving/printing, as these images are HUGE.. this app is AWESOME! Works very well, easy to use, very simple, and does everything I could want it to do.. Money well spent!!

Very worth my purchase

Very easy to use app. Does what one wants to do quickly.

thank god.

no seriously, exactly what i needed.

Saved the day!

I was given the daunting task of figuring out how to split up a large poster into printable sized pieces - impossible! I dont know what made me search the appstore for a solution, but Im glad I did! This seriously saved me. It even has a mode where it prints an overlap/bleed for you on each paper so your poster looks seamless.

Perfect!

I was looking for a program to print tiled pictures and banners and this is FABULOUS! It opens my exact .png or .jpg files and prints them any way I ask--2x1, 2x2, etc. Its easy to trim and paste them together for a great looking poster. :)

Love at First Site

I wasnt sure if this app would meet my needs. I wanted to use it to enlarge patterns, photos, etc for my stained glass work. I wrote the developer and recieved a quick response. I wrote again for clarification and the response again, was immediate. Assured that this app was what I wanted, I downloaded it and proceeded to use it immediately. I expected to struggle learning my way through the application. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a simple, drag and drop, easily manipulated system that gave me a choice of enlarging by inches, mm, or pages. The app automatically kept the aspect ratio the same. Nice print preview so you can determine how many pages to use and where to position it on the pages prior to printing. Simple, Solid, Perfect! Kudos to the developer!

what a crap did I insatll..

Installed and still cant open it, who ever made this u need to send my money back..

Yes!

This is what i want and working %100 amazing :)

Still Works Great!

I use SplitPrint to make posters of anime fan art. Its so easy to use, and powerful! Ive had SplitPrint since 2011.

Fabulous!

This is one of those rare apps that does exactly what it says it will. It really is easy to use (seriously!), and doesn’t leave you with that “I’m glad only paid a couple of bucks for this feeling”. Periodically I have need for poster prints for school projects or parties and such and it has always been a hassle. Usually I end up just giving up. Not any more, this app makes poster prints a cinch! I did a 4 x 3 poster easily on the first try, first time I used the App. Be sure to use the cut lines option, they are very handy for keeping your trimming correct with scads of pages floating around.

Simple UI, works as described

I needed something to scale up images easily to do some large prints for wheatpasting. This app has a simple UI and works perfectly, it also supports full borderless printing which is a plus with my canon pro printer!

Needs Work

Not bad for what it is, but this app could stand improvement in at least two areas. First, it does not handle batch processing well. I can drag and drop a bunch of files onto the app, but it opens a separate window for each one and thereby essentially requires processing one by one. Second, file naming is terrible. One should have the option of using the original file name with some sort of sequencing from there. Together, these two issues make the app essentially unusable for the batch processing of multiple files. I also think it is a mistake to assume that everyone who wants to split a PDF or image into tiles wants to go big. This kind of splitting or slicing app can also be useful to someone who, for example, wants to divide into four equal pieces an 8.5x11 or A4 sheet containing four flash cards. For users like that, it would be useful to have presets for card stock, etc. I don’t know why, but when I split an A4 sheet into 4 equal rectangles and then try to process them through ScanTailor, ScanTailor complains that the DPI needs to be fixed. This is not your problem. However, this suggests the possibility that SplitPrint is resizing the pieces in a problematic way, perhaps on the assumption that the objective is to create a big composite from the pieces. As noted above, not everyone who might find an app like this useful has that objective. Some of us have smaller ends in mind. And I just have to add that the in-app purchases are cheesy. I mean, seriously. I do like that you chose a dog for the icon and opening image.

Wonderful

If you’re looking to print out large designs, this is simple and easy to use. It took all of two seconds to figure it out.

A rarity in the App world

It does what it purports to do, its GUI is straightforward, and it is generally intuitive to use. The only suggestion I’d make is a button on the menu bar to alternate between portrait and landscape orientation of the sheets, to avoid having to drill down a menu.

Works great, easy

Enlarged an image and split it across multiple pages that could be put together into a large poster once printed. Worked great and was able to get what I needed in minutes. Thanks!

Won’t Open

I love this app. I use it all the time, especially for art projects. Always works flawlessly, however the program wont open when I click it’s icon in my app folder…the icon doesn’t even pop up on the dock. Just click it - a tiny glitch - and nothing. Please, please fix this problem.
